*To determine which towns served by Intermountain Gas Company are subject to the meter snow shelter requirements of Procedure 4017, an independent study was referenced. The study performed by the University of Idaho, Department of Civil Engineering titled: Ground Snow Loads for Idaho- 2015 Edition compiled data from the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and the National Weather Service (NWS), the two principal agencies gathering ground snow data in the western U.S. Intermountain Gas Company concluded that the 2015 Idaho ground snow load study provides the most current and accurate information available to ensure the health and welfare of our customers in these areas.
