BOISE, IDAHO – August 7, 2026 – Intermountain Gas Company today filed its annual purchased gas cost adjustment (PGA) application (Case No. INT-G-26-04) with the Idaho Public Utilities Commission. If approved, residential, small commercial and large volume customers will see a price decrease, while transport customers will see an increase. In total, Intermountain Gas is asking the PUC to approve an average decrease of 3.49% or $11,055,662.
The PGA application is filed each year to ensure the costs Intermountain incurs on behalf of its customers are reflected in its sales prices. If approved, the new rates would go into effect on Oct. 1, 2026.
A typical residential customer would see a monthly decrease of $1.46 or 3.25%. Commercial customers, on average, would see a monthly decrease of $8.22 or 4.25%. Large volume customers, on average, would see a monthly decrease of $1,549.99 or 11.32%. Transport customers, on average, would see the following monthly increases: T-3 $102.92 or 1.75%; and T-4 $159.01 or 3.27%. The cost of natural gas is a straight passthrough to customers — Intermountain does not earn a profit on the cost of natural gas.
The changes in the proposed PGA are primarily due to a decrease in estimated gas commodity and transportation costs for the coming year.
