Ever wonder what all those numbers on your Intermountain Gas Company bill mean?  Take a few minutes to get acquainted with your bill by reading the explanations below.

When paying your bill by mail, please tear off the top portion of your bill and return it with your payment.  When paying your bill in person, please bring the entire bill with you.

* For your convenience, we have listed additional information regarding special terms and definitions on the back of the bill.

  1. Account Status: This area summarizes the status of your account. Displayed is your payment due date, your account number and the amount that you should pay. Below this you will find the total of your last billing, payments received, and the balance forward. [ Top ]
  2. Service Address: Identifies the physical location of your service. [ Top ]
  3. Meter Reading Information: This area has the date that your meter was read, number of days you were billed, your meter number, and actual readings taken from your meter. The difference between the two readings shows the cubic feet used. The cubic feet multiplied by the billing factor* equals the therms* billed. [ Top ]
  4. Billing Date: The actual date your account was billed. [ Top ]
  5. Type of Rate: Identifies the charges used to calculate your bill.* [ Top ]
  6. Current Activity: This area details the charges for the current billing period. The number of therms multiplied by the rate equals your current monthly charge for usage. Also listed under the current activity is your customer charge* and the municipal franchise fee. This area also shows any adjustments made to your account during the current billing period; giving you the total of your account, which includes any balance forward. [ Top ]
  7. Usage Comparison: A comparison of usage from this year to last year.

  9. Bill Remittance Stub: Send this stub with your payment. [ Top ]
  10. Payment Due Date: Payment is due 15 days from the date the bill was mailed.*

  11. Account Number: The number assigned to your service address. [ Top ]
  12. Pay This Amount: Total amount due on your account as of the billing date.

  13. Balance Forward: The amount from your previous month's bill less any payments received. [ Top ]
  14. Current Charges: The charges for the current billing are found here. [ Top ]
  15. Total of Account: This is the total of your balance forward and the current charges. [ Top ]
  16. Amount Enclosed: As a convenience, you may write in the amount you enclose on your payment stub. [ Top ]
  17. Mailing Address Change: Check this box if you have a change in your mailing address, phone number or email address. An area is provided on the back to notify us of the necessary changes.* [ Top ]
