Your gas meter provides a very accurate measure of the amount of gas you have used. Intermountain Gas Company reads your meter about once a month. This meter reading is used to generate your gas bill.

Most of the service territory is read through AMR (Automated Meter Reading). It’s a new method of remotely reading meters using advanced communications technology. This technology allows us to read your meter from a mobile meter reading vehicle once a month, instead of the manual read taken by a meter reader.

To make it easier to read your meter, you should keep shrubbery trimmed away from the meter and remove snow in the winter.

To read your meter, follow these simple steps:

342500 is the read for the meter index above.

To determine how much gas you use in a particular billing period, read your meter on the date indicated on the 2008 Annual Estimated Meter Read Schedule and subtract your previous read (from your most current gas bill) to find the difference.
